Walking Holidays in Exmoor
Our walking holidays are mainly self guided for individuals and small groups. Should you wish to bring a larger walking group and would like to be guided, then we can arrange that with prior agreement.
The self guided walks have been devised and written by Bryan Cath, who ran the North Devon and Exmoor Walking Festival from 2000-2016. Prior to that Bryan ran his own hotel and walking holidays so has been writing walks in this area since 1987.
Our walking holidays include everything a walker would want, from comfortable accommodation, evening meals, packed lunches, drying facilities and route directions.
About the walks
The walks are all local to Dunster and are usually self guided. Some circular walks go direct from the hotel and some need transport to the start of the walk. You then walk back on a linear route to the hotel.
If you would like to walk the South West Coast Path from Minehead to Combe Martin with transport to and from the daily linear walks, then we can arrange that for walking groups. We can also do the same for the Coleridge Way which starts at Nether Stowey in the Quantock Hills and ends at Porlock in Exmoor on the coast.
Guided or self-guided walks
Our walks are usually self guided, particularly for those who are alone or in small groups. This gives you the freedom to choose your walks each day, or to have a day off. All our routes are available with route directions which are accurately written by Bryan for us.
If you would rather be guided, then we ask that you put together your own walking party of over 8 people and up to about 30 people. Being guided means that your usual guide can also enjoy a holiday and does not need to worry about routes and recceing prior to the holiday. You are using our local knowledge for the most successful and enjoyable walking.
Our guided holiday prices are for assumed group sizes of 10 or 22 people, as guideline prices. We give individual quotes for guided group walking holidays to suit your requirements. Please contact us. Please read our walking holiday terms and conditions.
