Exploring the archaeology of the Hoaroak Valley - Walk
Date: 14th Apr 2014 1:00pm-4:30pm
A walk with a National Park archaeologist into the Hoaroak Valley, to explore recent archaeological discoveries and to visit Hoaroak Cottage. This walk is over rough moorland for approximately 4km. Appropriate footwear and clothing is advised. Booking is not necessary. This event follows an illustrated talk in Lynmouth Pavilion (see entry above) however it is not necessary to have attended the morning session to come on this walk.

A Stroll through the History and Landscape of Simonsbath

Join a member of the Exmoor Society for a stroll through Simonsbath and its surrounding countryside. On this 1.5 hr stroll, hear about the history that has shaped this landscape. Starting at Ashcombe car park, we will go up to the two white rocks in Ashcombe and explore the white rocks area. We cross the road into Simonsbath Meadows and from there discuss the history of Simonsbath. Crossing to the back of the mill, and through it discussing the mill, we then follow the leat path finishing back at the mill, which is open that day.

Ralegh's Cross Long Walk
